Registered Family Child Care (RF)

There are requirements a provider must meet in order to have a Registered Family license. To be qualified you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of the home where the child care will be provided
• Have completed the Introduction to Registered Family Child Care Training Part 1 and Part 2*
• Be actively enrolled in CCLD’s Central Background Registry (CBR)
• Test Your Home Water Supply for Lead
• Have completed the required trainings, including but not limited to:
• Food Handlers Certification
• Pediatric CPR & First Aid*
• Safe Sleep for Oregon’s Infants training
• Introduction to Child Care Health & Safety training
• Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect

After becoming licensed, RF Providers have 90 days in which to complete Foundations For Learning child development training.

Certified Family Child Care

Obtaining a Certified Family Child Care License involves a more detailed process and requires either experience in an early learning setting or equivalent education, along with a Step 8 or higher on the Oregon Registry.
